Life in the Wilderness – Doug Hart

Feeling a bit lost in your world? Wondering why you don’t feel at “home”? Curious about what God is doing in your life?

Join us as we study the Scriptures to understand our place in this world and calling to follow Jesus to our destination. We will look at Old and New Testament passages, tracing and expanding our understanding of the wilderness theme in the Bible. From Adam being sent out from the Garden, to Christ’s being tempted there by Satan until the Renewal of the New Heavens and Earth, God has used the wilderness to form, test and bless His people. Class will be held in the New Slack Hall Choir Room

Ambassadors for Christ in a Cafeteria Culture — Aaron Hofius

“As man now is, God once was. As God now is, man may become.” “God is impersonal and evil is an illusion.” “Of course I’m a Christian…I’m an American and I’m a pretty good guy.” “It’s great that you’ve found your truth, but I already have my own truth.”

These are some of the voices echoing through our neighborhoods, workplaces, and community. Sharing the gospel in word and deed is the calling and privilege of every Christian. As we contemplate and carry out this calling, we are sometimes faced with people and ideologies that may confuse or intimidate us. How do we interact with an increasingly pluralistic society … right here in Roanoke, VA? Our class will learn about several of the popular alternatives to biblical Christianity in our area and work toward winsomely and graciously sharing the gospel with our friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Class will be held in the New Slack Hall Band Room

What are we to make of Christ? There is no question of what we can make of Him, it is entirely a question of what he intends to make of us.
