Christ the King Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Roanoke, Virginia

Christ-centered, Gospel-driven, Kingdom-minded church in Roanoke, Virginia

Mercy Ministries

We are committed to “Deeds of Mercy”, not simply “Words of Truth”

We are committed to “showing” or embodying the reality of Kingdom life through a commitment to the all-encompassing nature of salvation.  The Kingdom is not simply announcement, but a supernatural healing of the wounds of the world around us.  While this healing will always manifest an incomplete character, it is nonetheless an obligation for the church to seek to make this world a more “God-honoring” place in its totality by taking up the issues of health and healing, education and social issues, justice in the workplace, politics, racial prejudices and hunger and poverty.

Central to this commitment is our desire to build bridges into the various ethnic and racial communities of Roanoke.  To that end we are currently partnering with the following ministries in the Roanoke Valley:

Straight Street

333 Luck Avenue
Roanoke, VA  24016
Office: (540) 342-4971
Fax: (540) 342-1510

Straight Street is a local ministry located in downtown Roanoke that is committed to bring the gospel of grace to those who have been discarded and disenfranchised. They seek to apply the healing balm of Christ to the pain of broken marriages, single parents, angry teens, alcohol and drug addiction and so much more.

Blue Ridge Women’s Center

5034 Williamson Road
Roanoke, VA  24012
Office: (540) 362-4357

Since 1984, more than 12,000 women have trusted Blue Ridge Women’s Center with their most personal concerns. Unplanned pregnancy. Relationships. Reproductive health. With medical clinics in Roanoke and Rocky Mount, support services from on-site consultants, and an extensive educational program, Blue Ridge Women’s Center specializes in the well-being of women and their families.

What are we to make of Christ? There is no question of what we can make of Him, it is entirely a question of what he intends to make of us.
