Our Students are an integral part of our wider church body
The youth ministry at CTK seeks to partner with the parents of our students in an endeavor to strengthen the faith of the students in our midst and to reach outside our community to share the gospel with unbelievers.
In part, the youth at CTK are an age-divided subgroup of the church, so we, at times, separate the high school and middle school students for age-focused fellowship and teaching. However, our students are also an integral part of the wider church body, so we encourage and emphasize participation in the larger activities of the church- especially corporate worship and service to the body of Christ.
Ways to get involved
Sunday School – Each Sunday before our worship service we have an hour of Christian education where our students study the word of God. Sunday school meets from 9:30-10:30 a.m. each Sunday in Ellis Hall.
Bible Studies – On a regular basis our students divide into small groups to spend time together to grow in friendship with one another, grow together in prayer, and study God’s word together. These studies vary in time and place, often meeting at a place like Chick-Fil-A or in the homes of some of our families.
Youth Group – Every Sunday night, the youth group gathers in a church-member’s home for games, singing, prayer, and Bible study.
Retreats – Periodically we will attend retreats that provide a unique opportunity for guys and girls to grow in their friendships with one another and in their knowledge of God and his grace.
Conferences – In the summer, our high school students attend the annual High School RYM Summer Conference. During the year, a number of PCA church youth groups also gather for middle school and high school Modgnik.
Social Events – Frequently, the youth group gathers for some sort of social gathering. Past events have included trips to Kings Dominion, bowling nights, game nights and Christmas parties.
