Donna grew up in the suburban Washington DC area and came to Christ as a middle schooler, invited to church by a friend from school. Realizing her love for children at an early age she was a camp counselor in high school, an elementary education major in college, a home school teacher of her own kids, a substitute teacher in the public schools and most recently a tutor. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Chuck and they have 3 grown children. They raised their kids in the Hampton Roads area but moved to Roanoke in 2012 because they both love the mountains and they wanted to be closer to them.Utilizing various forms of education needed for their own children, including public school, home school, Christian school and even a brief stint of military school has given her compassion for the challenges of child rearing and appreciation for the many different paths down which parents may be led with respect to education. She and Chuck love to hike, bike, and hang out with friends. They live on a small farm in Botetourt County and count a few sheep, goats and chickens among their current family members.
